Garmin Quatix 7 is a GPS smartwatch for life on the sea

Ahoy sailor

Garmin has added a new smartwatch to its lineup aimed at sailors. The new Quatix 7 series comes in standard, solar and sapphire versions, and is designed keeping in mind the harsh conditions of life out on the sea.
The Quatix 7 headline features include a stainless steel bezel and a reinforced polymer shell that are sturdy enough to brave the waves. The 47mm watch is equipped with a 1.2in touchscreen display complimented by five physical buttons. Opt for the Sapphire Edition, and you’ll get an AMOLED screen.
As with Garmin’s watches, you get 18 days worth of battery life in smartwatch mode or 57 hours in just GPS mode. You can boost the battery life with the power of the sun by opting for the Solar Edition.
The Quatix 7 series is compatible with a range of marine-grade equipment, including controlling a yacht’s autopilot using the smartwatch. The watch also displays relevant information like water depth, windspeed, tide changes, engine RPM, and more. Needless to say, the watch is as much a sailor as you are with a 10ATM rating, which means it can survive dunks up to 100 metres.
Prices for the new Garmin Quatix 7 start from £600 (approx ₹57,500), and go up to £1,050 (approx ₹1,00,700) for the Solar edition.
