Garmin upgrades Fenix and Epix ranges

Where solar and sapphire live in harmony

Talk about FOMO and it seems Garmin is really back with a bang! Launching four new Fenix 7 and a new Epix smartwatch, Garmin is hoping to disrupt the outdoor smartwatch landscape, yet again. The highlight here is the world’s first built-in flashlight in a smartwatch, which the Fenix 7X boasts of, along with a red strobe light that displays an SOS signal during emergency situations!

The Fenix 7 features a high standard power sapphire and a new highly permeable solar panel. Clubbed with an increased surface area of the panels and optimisation of the cells, Garmin claims the solar efficiency is 200% higher, while the overall battery life sees a jump of almost 300% over the previous generation.

Its real-time stamina mode lets you adjust the speed and intensity as per your current physical strength for more accurate tracking. More than 40 advanced indoor and outdoor sport modes are included, ranging from skiing to golfing. The Garmin Connect app also lets you create your own route and sync it with the smartwatch to get notifications on water/medical stations, route data, checkpoints and more.

The Epix has an AMOLED display, battery life of up to 21 days and 42,000 golf course and 2200 ski-resort maps. Both the Fenix and Epix are built to US military standard 810 specs and start from ₹67,990 and ₹89,900.
