Garmin Vivosmart 5 is a feature-packed tracker with an upgraded design

Back in the tracker game

Garmin may be busy launching smartwatches for pilots and Bear Grylls, but it hasn’t forgotten about its fitness bands. After a gap of a few years, the brand is expanding its Vivosmart lineup with the launch of the new Vivosmart 5.
The sleek fitness tracker is meant for those who find smartwatches bulky and uncomfortable to wear all day. The overall design of the tracker is similar to its predecessor, albeit with a 66% larger touchscreen display. The bigger screen however doesn’t seem to have a major impact on the battery life, as Garmin claims you’ll need to charge the tracker once in seven days.
In terms of fitness tracking, the Vivosmart 5 is as capable as some of the smartwatches from Garmin. It can track a whole host of sports and activities, in addition to monitoring heart-rate, stress, hydration, sleep, women's health, and blood oxygen levels.
The built-in GPS is a boon for runners as it allows the band to accurately track distance, speed, and steps. Lastly, Garmin says that the Vivosmart 5 is swim and shower proof.
The Garmin Vivosmart 5 is now available for $150 (approx ₹11,400).
