How to use Discord Voice Chat on PlayStation 5

Slay the competition with killer communication!

A couple of days back we told you about the new Discord feature that will let you voice chat with your friends on desktop, web, console, or mobile using your PS5. Now, Sony has rolled out the latest system update for the console and made the voice chat feature available for all users. So we are going to walk you through the process of linking your Discord account to your PS5 and transferring Discord voice chats to your PS5.

First things first, make sure your console is all up-to-date with the latest system software. Now, log into your PS5 with the account you wish to link your Discord with and then head to Settings > Users and Accounts > Linked Services then choose Discord from the list. Then select Link Account. Next, you'll be asked to go to discord.com/activate. Alternatively, you can use a smart device to scan the on-screen QR code then you will be asked to enter the 8-digit code shown on your PS5's display. Once entered, Discord will find your PSN account and ask you to confirm access. Accept the terms and conditions by clicking Authorise. Your accounts should now be linked.

Now you can start using it. You can join or start a voice chat on your server through the Discord smartphone app or PC app. Then select Transfer to PlayStation and click Transfer Voice. Your voice channel will migrate to your PS5 in a few seconds. Then, press the PS button on your controller to bring up the control centre and continue chatting on Discord via your console. You will need your smartphone or PC app next to you to access voice chat on PS5 at all times.
