The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is the first OLED gaming monitor from the brand and the latest in the Odyssey lineup. With a 34in form factor and an ultra-thin body at 3.9mm (at the thinnest part) and a sleek metal frame, this one is definitely easy on the eyes and heavy on the wallet.
The OLED panel is partnered with Quantum Dot Technology and comes equipped with several gaming features including an impressive 0.1ms response time and a 175Hz refresh rate. The monitor requires no backlighting (because OLED duh!) and is more than capable of delivering deeper colour tones and true black for maximum colour accuracy and brightness.
The display has an ultra-wide, QHD resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio with 100% colour volume and DCI-99.3% colour gamut. Comfort is another focal point of this device. It comes equipped with a Height Adjustable Stand (HAS), as well as tilt functionality to ensure ergonomic efficiency allowing you to play for hours on end without discomfort.
The monitor supports the Samsung Smart Hub which gives you access to various streaming platforms without having to connect to a PC or phone. The integrated IoT hub allows you to check the various devices in the ecosystem that are wirelessly connected to the monitor. While the SmartThings app allows users to monitor these devices from anywhere.
The Samsung Gaming Hub comes built into the Odyssey OLED G8 so you can discover and play games from partners such as Xbox, Nvidia GeForce NOW, Google Stadia and Utomik with instant access to top streaming services. Lastly, for connectivity, the Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with Micro HDMI (2.1), Mini DP (1.4) and USB-C ports. And for audio, it packs on a 5W stereo speaker for crisp sound.
