Insta360 Flow marries gimbal smoothness with clever software for subject tracking

For footage smoother than a baby's bottom?

Let’s face it, capturing a stable video is no child’s play. Now and then we are faced with situations that remind us of the importance of a handheld gimbal stabilizer like the latest Insta360 Flow. Its 3-axis gimbal stabilization lets you capture footage so steady that you could film an earthquake and it would look like a peaceful day at the park  (no matter how much caffeine you've had that day).

And guess what, that's just the beginning of what all Insta360 Flow is capable of. Its automatic subject tracking feature Deep Track 3.0 lets it follow subjects in real-time and also frame shots. Plus, the Deep Track 3.0 also has a Human Re-Identification feature that enables the gimbal to keep following you throughout the recording even if you are hidden from view and an All-Angle Tracking that enables tracking when the subject's shape changes.

Then there is Tracking Recovery which lets it track the subject even when it moves outside the frame by zooming out and Live Mode for tracking during live video conversations or streaming in other apps like FaceTime, Instagram and TikTok.

Flow also has a built-in tripod that can stretch up to 80mm in length and has an extended diameter of 187.6mm. And the selfie stick's rod extends up to 215mm. It has a folding shape and a magnetic phone clip to secure your smartphone. And, the device supports Gesture Control, allowing you to use it as a tripod and start hands-free tracking.

It has a 2900mAh battery that can also charge your smartphone while recording and a built-in cold shoe so you can add a microphone for better audio with no additional accessories. As for price, the Flow can be yours for $159.99 (around ₹13,151). Our review will come soon, stay tuned.
