Now although OLED displays are considered to be the gold standard for consumer televisions for a few years now, they haven’t progressed very rapidly in terms of tech. OLEDs boast of unmatched contrast ratios and unprecedented colour fidelity, but have often been criticised for their lower brightness levels compared to LED or Mini LED competitors.
LG has taken the lead on this, and is calling the next evolution of its OLED TV display, the OLED EX, where the E is for Evolution and X for Experience.
The deuterium infused self-emitting pixels used in the OLED EX panel will increase brightness by up to 30%, and LGs new algorithm-based EX Technology will monitor each of the 33 million pixels of their 8K displays individually for optimum control of brightness, contrast and colour.
Even the bezels on OLED EX televisions will be slimmed down from 6mm to 4mm, making the overall presentation even more immersive. No word is out yet on the model range or price in India, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled for more ourselves!
