Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Spin Time Air Quantum is a luxury glow-in-the-dark watch

Inspired by deep-sea creatures

Louis Vuitton’s latest timepiece takes its inspiration from the bioluminescent creatures you’d find in Aquaman’s kingdom. Called the Tambour Spin Time Air Quantum, this watch boasts an illuminated concept and an eye-catching way of showing the time.
This 42.5mm watch features a black titanium case with contrasting glowy green accents on the dial. The dial features a standard minute hand, and 12 rotating black-and-green cubes with letters that spell out ‘Louis Vuitton’. To show the hour, the corresponding cube rotates to change the colour – in this case green to black.
The entire watchface is illuminated by a dozen LED lights when the crown is pressed. The illumination lasts for three seconds, and an indicator in the crown indicates the power reserved in the two batteries. Per the company, these batteries are good enough to last up to three years before they need replacing.
The sapphire crystal back of the watch boasts an LV monogram designed to represent a circuit board. Unlike the subject of inspiration, this watch isn’t meant for deep-sea diving, and is only resistant to basic water up to 50 metres.
Needless to say, this luxury timepiece doesn’t come cheap. The Tambour Spin Time Air Quantum is currently available via Louis Vuitton’s website with an eye-watering price tag of $93,000 (approx ₹71.16 lakh).
