Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Update to launch on November 11th

Buckle your seatbelts and return your seats to the upright position.

There aren’t a lot of 40-year-old video games out there, let alone people reading this. But hey, if you do happen to be that old (oops), you might enjoy this little tidbit. Microsoft Flight Simulator’s 40th Anniversary Update will release for free for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers and those who already own a copy of the simulator. This update will brace us on November 11, later this year across Xbox Series X and S, Windows 10/11 PC and Steam.

Ask and you shall receive… Microsoft has finally brought to its community helicopters and gliders, as requested. The OG fans can look forward to some classic airplanes like the 1903 Wright Flyer, the Curtiss JN-4 Jenny from 1915, the stunning Grumman G-21 A Goose and the famous Spruce Goose (Hughes H-4 Hercules). Alongside this, there are also new airports, missions and more.

Last but not least, Microsoft Flight Simulator has released City Update 01, a feature that uses photogrammetry to recreate five German cities, including Hanover, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Bonn, and Cologne into the simulator.
