Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ launched with MediaTek chip and speedy charging

Flagship killers unite

The competition in the premium segment is just about to get even more cutthroat with the launch of Oppo’s latest flagship killer. Called the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+, it is packed with flagship-grade specs, but without the eye-watering price tag.

Features-wise you get a 6.7in FHD+ AMOLED display, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max chip under the hood. Also on offer is 12GB of RAm, and 256GB of storage.

Among the highlights is a new triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide snapper, and a 2MP macro shooter. The front includes a 32MP camera meant for selfies and video calling.

The 5G-enabled phone comes with NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB Type-C port, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Additionally, this device has dual-SIM capabilities, and it runs Android 11 out-of-the-box.

Looking at the spec sheet, you can’t help but be reminded of phones like the Realme GT Neo 3 or the OnePlus 10R. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ will be available in three colour options – Luminous Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Pink. Prices start from ¥3,699 (approx ₹43,000).

At the launch event, Oppo also announced two other devices from the same series – Oppo Reno 8 and Oppo Reno 8 Pro. These devices share a similar design language, but come with a set of toned down specs and features. Oppo also took the wraps off a productivity-based tablet, called the Oppo Pad Air.
