Oppo Reno 8Z 5G is a budget Reno 8

Flagship-like at a pocket-friendly price

You may be familiar with the Reno 8 and 8 Pro by now, and now Oppo has added a new device to this lineup, called the Reno 8Z 5G. Priced at THB 12,990 (approx ₹28,600), this younger sibling of the flagship sports a 6.43in full-HD+ display alongside an impressive 64MP primary rear camera. 

The display features a 60Hz refresh rate with support for 16.7 million colours. The 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and 600 nits of peak brightness make the display extremely satisfying to ogle. It is additionally, SGS certified to reduce blue light to less than 12.5, effectively keeping your eyes happy.

Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and Adreno 619 GPU, the handset runs on ColorOS 12.1. It packs in dual-SIM capability and Bluetooth v5.1 connectivity. The device will be available in an 8GB RAM +128GB storage model and is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W SuperVOOC charging. Using a USB Type-C port to suck in the juice, the phone also features a fingerprint scanner and face recognition for biometric authentication.

When it comes to cameras, this model sports a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 64MP primary Dual Orbit Lights AI Portrait sensor, a 2MP mono sensor and a 2MP bokeh macro lens. The company claims that the rear camera is capable of recording up to 1080p videos at 30fps and slow-motion videos up to 720p at 120fps. Up front, you get a 16MP selfie camera, capable of recording up to 1080p or 720p video at 30fps. 

The phone will be available in two colour variants – Dawnlight Gold and Starlight Black. So if you can’t commit to the flagship, you can definitely get your hands on the slightly less frilled-up model for less than half the price.
