Pokemon-inspired Mini Concept Aceman car takes centre stage at Gamescom

Got to catch ‘em all

If you thought we were done with Gamescom, you thought wrong. How can we leave out the most amusing and adorable reveals from the Opening Night – The Mini Cooper collaboration with Pokemon? The strangely fitting union of these two brands has brought us the electric Pokemon-inspired Mini Concept Aceman car.

What makes it so distinct? Well, the neon paint job for starters. It’s futuristic, which could camouflage into your an LED gaming setup. We got a sneak peek of the digital dashboard, home to the iconic Pokemon. On starting the car, the electric animation plays as electrical bolts light up across the dashboard (very Pika Pika indeed). The car sports animated pixelated front lights mounted on the bumper, in addition to the custom puddle lights that shine “Mini x Pokémon” when you open the doors.

According to the head of Mini Design, you will probably be able to connect your gaming console to the car. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be able to play on your Switch while the car charges. It even packs on a built-in projector, just in case you have a sudden itch to dive back into your childhood in a parking lot somewhere.

The aim of this model is to allow you to embrace your childhood and never stop playing. But, please don’t mess around too much, this isn't the same Mini from Forza 3. We don't know the price yet, but you can't expect this special edition car to be cheap.
