Chennai-based Raptee.HV has launched the T 30 electric motorcycle in India, priced at Rs. 2,39,000. The new electric bike is notable in that it can be charged at CCS2 car charging stations or with a car charger, thus making it compatible with public charging infrastructure across the country. Currently, there are said to be over 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations in India, with new infrastructure being added continuously in order to keep up with demand and increase in use of electric vehicles. This compatibility should also ensure faster charging for the bike, and thus make it a bit easier to use the motorbike for longer runs.
The Raptee.HV T 30 is said to charge from 20-80 percent in 60 minutes at 3.3kW, and 36 minutes with fast charging, thus making safe and fast charging its main USP. In comparison, electric two-wheelers in India use different charging protocols which are designed for charging the smaller batteries safely.
Priced at Rs. 2,39,000, Raptee.HV states that the bike is priced on par with most 250-300cc ICE motorbikes available in India, and will offer similar levels of performance. The bike comes with a high voltage 5.4kWh battery, which has a rated IDC range of 200km and real-world range of 150km per charge. The battery pack is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, and the bike delivers up to 22kW of power and 70Nm of torque - impressive figures for a two-wheeler. Raptee.HV also claims a top speed of 135km/h for the T 30.
Deliveries of the Raptee.HV T 30 are expected to kick off in Chennai and Bengaluru in January 2025, with planned expansion to other cities in India in the following months and years based on demand.
