ROG Strix XG27AQDMG is Asus’ first glossy WOLED gaming monitor

These monitors are here to play!

Asus has unveiled two new gaming monitors in their ROG lineup — the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and Strix XG27UCG. Both feature a 27-inch screen, but each one comes with its own set of features and functions.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG is touted as the world's first gaming monitor with a glossy WOLED panel, featuring 20% brighter images than its predecessors. To tackle the flickering issue with the OLED panel when the variable refresh rate (VRR) is active, this model introduces new OLED Anti-flicker tech. It offers three anti-flicker settings (Strong, Middle, Off) to stabilise the refresh rate within an optimised range. This also minimises flicker perception.

The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG gaming monitor sports a QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels) and a 240 Hz refresh rate. With a response time of 0.03 ms (grey to grey) and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, this monitor is expected to deliver smooth gameplay. It comes with a separate adapter to keep things cool and reduce the risk of OLED panel burnout. Plus, it features a special heatsink and Asus OLED Care for extra protection.

Meanwhile, the ROG Strix XG27UCG is said to be breaking ground as the world's first 27-inch dual-mode monitor with an LCD panel. With a simple hotkey press, you can switch between native 4K resolution at 160 Hz and Full HD resolution at 320 Hz. The 4K Fast IPS panel features a pixel density of 164 pixels per inch and a 1 ms response time. The XG27UCG also offers a variety of connectivity options, including USB Type-C (DP Alt Mode, Power Delivery), DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.1.
