Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 unveiled in India today!

It’s looking like the next heavy-weight champion

If you are looking for beauty on two wheels, look no further. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is a familiar-looking proportionate beast with a 19in front wheel and a 16-in rear wheel. This model has a full-LED headlight as well as a large tear-shaped 15.6-litre fuel tank.

Braking has been well taken care of by a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm at the rear, mated to dual-channel ABS. That said, the main attraction of this vehicle is the much-loved 650cc parallel twin engine. What makes it unique when compared to other 650s is that the exhaust pipes don’t stick out wide allowing for easier manoeuvring in tight spaces (the desi riding requirement).

The bike also does a good job of hiding away the catalytic converters underneath the motorcycle. The 648cc air and oil cooled parallel-twin engine produces 47hp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm at 5,650rpm. The Super Meteor also bears a new chassis. The rake angle on the front end is much more relaxed and the seat height sits as low as 740mm. That said, its no light piece of machinery and at 241kg. It's the heaviest of all the Enfields currently out there on sale!

The Super Meteor 650 shall offer two variants– the standard and the tourer. For the standard, the colour options include– Astral and Interstellar colourways, while the range-topping tourer variant will feature the Celestial colourway. The Astral and Interstellar offer a more stripped-down understated look, while the tourer variant is offered with a pillion backrest and a large windscreen. The Astral is offered in three colours, while the Interstellar and Celestial are each available in two colours.

The bike will make an official appearance later this month and is expected to be priced between ₹3.5 lakh-₹4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
