Samsung Galaxy AI gets upgrades on the new Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Buds3 Pro

AI is everyone's favourite thing right now, it seems

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Buds3 Pro are here, and with them comes a new and improved approach to Galaxy AI. Originally introduced with the Galaxy S24 series earlier this year, Galaxy AI gets new features and improvements to take advantage of the form factors of the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, and also brings features to the new Galaxy Buds3 Pro true wireless earphones. Now that the new smartphones and earphones have been launched, it's time to take a look at just how Galaxy AI works on the new devices.

Before we get into what's new, it's worth looking at some of the existing Galaxy AI features that have already been showcased on the Galaxy S24 series. These include 'Circle to search' which lets you select a part of an image to run it through a Google search, live translation for other languages, chat assist which can help you set the right tone in text messages, quick summarisation for text paragraphs and segments, assisted previews for images shot on the camera, and the ability to resize and retouch images using AI's generative capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a massive main screen, and Galaxy AI has been improved to take advantage of all of that screen real estate. Among these is Note Assist, which gets a few improvements over and above its summarisation, formatting, and translation abilities. Galaxy AI now also offers transcription abilities for voice recordings directly in notes, PDF overlay translations, and a Composer to generate simple text for emails and social media through Samsung Keyboard.

A new sketch-to-image feature allows generative AI to turn simple sketches in the Notes app or on photos in the gallery into more complex artwork. Interpreter comes with a conversation mode that utilises both the main and front screens for interactions. Live translate, which can translate voice calls in real time, will also now support additional third-party calling apps in addition to the default calling app.

ProVisual Engine also returns, providing AI-assisted enhancements for images captured with the camera. Photo Assist claims to improve picture quality to professional levels, Portrait Studio can take images and turn them into 3D art or cartoon styles. Instant Slow-mo uses AI to add frames to turn any video into a slow-motion video without losing out on the smoothness of the capture.

On the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, AI features include smarter notifications on the FlexWindow outside screen, suggested replies so you don't need to open up your phone in certain situations, Photo Ambient wallpaper which adjusts according to time and weather, and AI-powered zoom for the camera system. Galaxy AI experiences also come with Samsung's Knox security protection platform, which is said to safeguard your data.

Interestingly, Galaxy AI also comes to the new Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro true wireless earphones. Interpreter allows for real-time translations straight into your ears when wearing the Buds3 Pro. Other functions such as voice commands, adaptive ANC, and adaptive EQ also utilise AI to work. Features such as voice detect and siren detect can adjust the volume, ANC, and hear-through functionality as required.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Buds3 Pro will be available for pre-order starting July 10, and will go on sale with wide availability starting July 24. Prices of the Z Fold 6 start from ₹1,64,999, while the Z Flip 6 will start from ₹1,09,999. The Buds3 Pro carries a price tag of ₹19,999.
