Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has launched the updated Gen 1.5 version of the Simple One electric scooter in India. Priced at Rs. 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), the Simple Energy One electric scooter comes with improvements in the performance, battery range, and software, aimed at offering a more refined overall ride and usage experience. The new electric scooter comes with a claimed range of 248km per charge, and has a top speed of 105kmh.

The new electric scooter also comes with feature upgrades including app integration to view scooter diagnostics and data remotely, navigation history, parking assist, and Bluetooth connectivity, among others. Ride-focused features include navigation through on-scooter mapping, regenerative braking, and a USB charging port in the scooter itself, to charge your devices.
The scooter also gets four ride modes - Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic - for specific ride styles and requirements. The top speed of 105kmh is possible in the Sonic mode, while the Eco mode allows for superior real-world riding range of over 180km per charge, by limiting throttle response and top speed. Other modes such as Ride and Dash also help achieve a balance between performance and range.
Although Simple Energy has had a limited presence in India - largely focused around Bengaluru and a few other cities - the brand is looking to expand aggressively across India in 2025. While the brand has already sold over 2500 scooters so far, it's looking to grow fast and step up sales to over 60,000 units this year itself. Simple Energy plans to open 150 stores and dealerships, as well as over 200 service centres across India to achieve the target.
