Tata Curvv launched in India for a starting price of ₹17.49 Lakh

Tata Motors has introduced the Tata Curvv EV in India, starting at an introductory price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The full reveal highlights its design, interior and features. Tata has also showcased the ICE-powered Curvv, slated for launch on September 12, with pricing details to follow. The ICE version will be available in four variants –Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished, while the Curvv EV will offer three personas – Creative, Accomplished, and Empowered+.

The Curvv EV’s feature-packed list includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, automatic climate control with an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless phone charger. You’ll also enjoy a 9-speaker JBL-tuned sound system with a 320W subwoofer, a 6-way powered driver seat, and ventilated front seats.

Additionally, it comes with an updated suite of Tata's 'iRA' connected car tech and the Arcade.ev feature, which lets you stream videos on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar while the car is stationary, and even play games on the touchscreen.

When it comes to safety, the Curvv EV is well-equipped with 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a blind spot monitor, all-wheel disc brakes, hill hold assist, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor. 

The driver's screen conveniently displays both navigation and the blind spot monitor. Additionally, Tata has equipped the Curvv EV with a suite of Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, and autonomous emergency braking. To enhance pedestrian safety and overall awareness, Tata Motors has introduced acoustic sounds for the Curvv EV, which are audible outside the car at speeds below 20 kmph, alerting traffic in crowded areas.

In terms of design, the Curvv EV stands out with its Nexon-inspired connected LED DRL strip and vertically aligned LED headlights at the front. The side profile emphasises its SUV-coupe aesthetic, featuring a sleek sloping roofline, flush door handles, robust body cladding, and 18-inch aerodynamically crafted alloy wheels. The rear looks striking too, with connected LED tail lights, a bold black bumper with a skid plate, and vertically arranged triangular reflectors and reversing lights.

Moreover, the Curvv EV offers a ground clearance of 190 mm and can wade through water up to 450 mm deep. It also provides ample storage space with a 500-litre boot and an additional 11.6-litre frunk (front trunk), similar to the setup in the Punch EV.

The Tata Curvv EV is powered by a single 123 kW electric motor and comes with two battery options – a 45 kWh pack offering a range of 502 km and a 55 kWh pack providing up to 585 km (both ARAI certified). Tata claims the Curvv EV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/h.

Built on Tata’s new Acti.ev platform, the Curvv EV supports DC fast charging up to 70 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10-80 per cent in just 40 minutes. Additionally, it features a 4-level battery regeneration system, which drivers can adjust using paddle shifters.

The Tata Curvv EV is available with introductory ex-showroom prices as follows – the Creative variant starts at ₹17.49 lakh, while the Accomplished variant is priced at ₹18.49 lakh for the medium range and ₹19.25 lakh for the long range. The Accomplished+ S is priced at ₹19.29 lakh for the medium range and ₹19.99 lakh for the long range. The Empowered+ variant is available at ₹21.25 lakh for the long range, and the Empowered+ A is priced at ₹21.99 lakh.
