The new Dyson OnTrac headphones put the focus on the sound

No built-in air purification here; this is a straightforward pair of wireless headphones

Dyson made a big splash with its first pair of headphones, the Dyson Zone, launched globally back in 2022. The headphones, launched by a brand typically known for its vacuum cleaners and air purifiers, were quite the sight, thanks to the built-in air purification system. The latest launch in the category, however, takes a completely different approach. The new Dyson OnTrac wireless headphones skip the extra features, with the brand turning the focus onto the listening experience. Priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 41,800), the new wireless headphones come with active noise cancellation and up to 55 hours of battery life even with ANC on.

The Dyson OnTrac has a frequency response range of 6-21,000Hz, and comes with 40mm dynamic drivers. Active noise cancellation uses eight microphones to sample external noise 3,84,000 times per second to analyse and cancel out sound.

When it comes to design, the Dyson OnTrac comes with tap controls and a total of four colourways, with customisable caps and cushions for different colour combinations. The main colourways included CNC metallic finishes in aluminium, copper, and nickel, along with a Ceramic Cinnabar version which comes with a ceramic painted finish.

There is also app support for the headphones through the MyDyson app, which offers customisable equaliser modes, head tracking, settings customisation, and software updates. The new headphones from Dyson are expected to launch in India soon.
