5G has already been rolled out in India with a promise of uber-fast connectivity, low latency and easy implementation of big data applications like autonomous devices, robots, virtual and augmented reality and cloud-based healthcare, gaming and a lot of other services. However, even though mass adoption of the latest technology still seems distant, smartphone brands are girding their loins — either launching new 5G-supported devices or enabling 5G capabilities on existing smartphones.
The latest to join the bandwagon is Apple. The Cupertino-giant has recently confirmed that the forthcoming update for iPhones, iOS 16.2 will bring 5G support to the devices, and those using Airtel or Jio networks can have all things in high-speed (a lot, if not all).
As of now, the devices that will have the update for 5G support include, the latest generation iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro series, iPhone 13 series, and the iPhone 12 Series, plus those with iPhone SE 3 will also be able to savour the advantages of the 5G network.
It will be available on the Beta version of iOS 16.2 from next week and it will be available for everyone by December.
