If you have ever grooved to a song so hard you wished you could rip off your headphones and force the world to hear, we might have found the headset for you. V-Moda’s new S-80 series is a testament to interchangeability, from its replaceable coloured side panels to its varied modes and functions.
These two-way headphones have a unique feature which allows you to turn them into a “personal speaker system” by simply flipping the earcups upwards. Once the ear cups are flipped into position, smart internal circuitry automatically adjusts the EQ and volume to create the ideal sound.
The headset sports V-Moda’s familiar hexagonal design, but varies in size with a smaller over-the-ear design instead of around the ear. This, in turn, doesn’t offer as much noise isolation and cancellation from the outside world. On the other hand, although V-Moda S-80 has a specific sound, it’s entirely customisable via an app.
Since these are V-Moda’s first all-wireless headphones, you can't exactly plug them into a DAC for improved audio options. That said, it uses Qualcomm’s aptX HD codec and support for Apple’s AAC codec on iOS devices to improve your listening experience.
Their interchangeable outer look comes courtesy of the magnetic shields on each cup, which are available for $24.99 (approx ₹1,950). The headset itself is available in Black, White, and Rose Gold for $399 (approx ₹31,200).
