Optoma’s new short throw projector, the GT2160HDR is designed exclusively for gaming and watching cinema. The device is equipped with a 4K UHD DLP and uses a short-throw lens with a 0.496 throw ratio. This means it projects a 120in diagonal image from as close as four feet, and the screen can be stretched up to 300 inches depending on how far the projector is placed.
The Optoma GT2160HDR has 4,000 high lumens of brightness and features like HDR hue and tone mapping technology. So HDR/HLG movies and games become quite immersive when viewed via this device. Furthermore, there is a special gamer mode that boosts the details in the dark areas of the screen so you have a better chance of not getting fragged by the opponent while hiding in the shadows.
Interestingly, the GT2160HDR also detects an HDR-encoded game and switches to HDR display mode automatically. Plus, it features a 240Hz refresh rate and 4ms input lag. For easy connectivity, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port and supports two HDMI 2.0 for external 4K devices like Apple TV 4K, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
