Xiaomi Mi Projector 2S announced with 120in image and gaming mode

Game on!

Xiaomi has been steadily growing its lineup of projectors meant for modern homes. After launching the Laser Projector 1S (2022) last month, the brand has quietly announced the Mi Projector 2S. The company will begin crowdfunding this Full HD projector in China on August 10, and here is what has got everyone talking.

The device features up to 850 ANSI Lumens brightness with 1080p resolution, and is capable of projecting an image up to 120 inches wide with a 1:2 throw ratio. Under the hood is a flagship 1.9GHz Amlogic T982 chip with AI image quality enhancement that ensures the picture has true colours. A built-in MEMC motion compensation technology allows for a smooth moving image.

For audio, it packs in two 10W built-in full-frequency speakers that have been optimised for sounds as quiet as 28 dBA. It even comes with support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD technologies.

Here’s where it gets good. You can now cast to the projector from your smartphone or laptop via 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.0. In addition to this, you can connect a gaming console via HDMI 2.1 port. It is also equipped with a special gaming mode that provides 40 ms latency. Additional ports include a USB 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Currently priced at ¥3,199 (₹38,000 approx), the projector even packs in intelligent image correction and support for the Xiaomi Mijia app, allowing it to be controlled via Xiao AI voice commands.
