Xiaomi Mijia AR Glasses Camera come with 15x hybrid zoom

Looking into a bright future

It’s time for the first steps of Augmented Reality to take place, with a projected boom over the next few years with Google, Apple, and Facebook heavily investing in the sector. Xiaomi will not be left behind and has hopped on the bandwagon with the new Mijia AR glasses camera that comes with 15x hybrid zoom and a Snapdragon 8 processor.

The AR glasses have a design similar to what has been seen in the past with side-mounted cameras and multiple lenses. Although these glasses seem bulky in the images, Xiaomi claims the device only weighs 100g. As you'd expect the cameras have pretty impressive specs. Equipped with a 50MP Quad Bayer four-in-one wide-angle camera and an 8MP periscopic telephoto camera with split OIS optical stabilisation. Additionally, these Mijia Camera glasses boast 5x optical zoom and up to 15x hybrid zoom.

The device can be easily setup and connected to the phone through the Mijia App, enabling users to quickly import photos, apply the template to a film, share pictures, and more. Alongside the Snapdragon 8-core independent computing platform, the wearable packs in 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

Featuring an independent ISP so that it can provide a great AR experience, the display on these glasses is a combination of a Micro OLED display and a free-form optical prism. It is Rheinland hardware low blue light certified and has a light efficiency ratio of 60%. The glasses will be available in China for ¥‎2,699 (₹31,000 approx). The device isn’t available in India just yet, but hey, we’d rather get it once any and all kinks are sorted out right?
