There are some gadgets that may not seem all that useful at first, until the need really arises. Fitting this category is the Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S. As the immensely long name suggests, this is the successor to the Mi Portable Electric Air Compressor, launched a couple of years back.
The latest edition still looks like a brick with a pipe jutting out of the top. It is powered by a 14.8Wh Lithium battery that can be topped up using the Type-C port. Compared to the previous gen model, the latest air compressor is claimed to have better airflow rate, and more inflation capabilities.
It is said to be capable of delivering 115 litres of air per minute, a massive 114% improvement over the previous model. It can also inflate up to eight tires on a single charge, which is up from 5.5 times in the last model.
One can select up to five modes of inflation – manual, bicycle, motorcycle, car, and ball. The built-in OLED display shows the pressure output in each mode, and there’s also an LED light to see in the dark, along with SOS flashing feature. Xiaomi also bundles a needle valve adapter, and a presta valve adapter.
The Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor 1S is priced at ₹4,499, though it is currently available at an introductory price of ₹2,799.
