MacBook Air with M2 will be available to order today

Refined and redesigned.

A month since WWDC, where Apple announced its plans for the new MacBook Air with the M2 chip, we shall be seeing the real thing. With prices starting from ₹1,19,900, the laptop will be available from 5:30PM today for orders.

If you happened to miss the announcement, let’s get you all caught up with the features. The redesigned MacBook Air sports a larger 13.6in Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness. Now, 25% brighter than before, the display even supports 1 billion colours.

Next up, is the star of the show – the M2. This second generation of Apple silicone has an 18% faster CPU, a 35% more powerful GPU, and a 40% faster Neural Engine. It is capable of delivering 50% more memory and up to 24GB of fast unified memory. 

Built around the new chipset, the laptop's new design is thinner from every angle with a 20% reduction in volume from the previous generation. The solid and durable all-aluminium unibody enclosure is built to last measuring just 11.3mm thick at 2.7 pounds.

That’s not all, we also see the return of the MagSafe charging, providing users with a dedicated charging port that is easy to connect and capable of surviving a few yanks and trips. The new MacBook comes with 18-hour battery life. Featuring a couple of Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a keyboard featuring a full-height function row with Touch ID, and a spacious Force Touch trackpad.

Additionally, this MacBook Air gets a 1080p FaceTime HD webcam (and a notch) and last but not least, new mics and speakers that support Dolby Atmos.

The MacBook Air with M2 will be available in four colours – silver, starlight, space grey, and midnight.
