Smarter wearables for the win!

The Stuff Gadget Awards 2024 showcases the best of the best in fitness tech. This year, we’ve focused on standout devices that blend style, functionality, and cutting-edge features to help you stay on top of your health goals. A minimalist fitness tracker that doesn’t compromise on performance, or a smartwatch that’s packed with advanced health metrics, these gadgets are designed to integrate into your daily routine. From the ultra-durable Gabit Smart Ring to the refined Apple Watch Series 10, these devices are leading the charge in both fitness tracking and wearable tech.

Let’s take a closer look at the game-changers that are setting new standards for fitness gadgets in 2024!

Fitness tracker of the year 2024: Gabit Smart Ring

Your smartwatch can be a fitness tracker, but then that prevents you from wearing a traditional watch, which obviously has its own charm. That’s where fitness tracking rings come in, and the Gabit Smart Ring is the best that you can buy in this segment - all things (including price) considered. The Gabit Smart Ring is crafted from titanium, making it particularly durable and resistant to typical wear and tear such as scuffs and scratches. It’s highly water resistant and offers over seven days of battery life on a charge as well, making it the kind of device you can just put on and forget about for days at a stretch. Exercise, heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, skin temperature, and more - this device has plenty of tracking metrics. It’s a game changer in this space, especially for the price.

Smartwatch of the year 2024: Apple Watch series 10

The Apple Watch is now a decade old – and darned if we don’t still love it. This latest edition isn’t a sea change from older designs, but it’s a worthwhile tweak that makes the easiest smartwatch to live with a little bit easier still: the display is larger, the charging speed is quicker and the whole thing is thinner. If you own a Watch Series 9, it’s probably not enough to warrant the upgrade, but to those still rocking a Series 6 or older, the Series 10’s refinements will make it feel like a whole new device. The rest is all very solid, with a bewildering (in a good way) level of health monitoring features included, plus all the user-friendly design touches we’ve come to expect from Apple. We do wish battery life had got a boost while they were about it, but that can’t spoil the overall party – or stop the Series 10 from being our favourite smartwatch of 2024.
